Welcome to the new and improved JTacbianan.dev website!

This website will serve to be the home base for a lot of my personal projects and adventures including my personally developed platforms, documenting my different ventures, chatting about my home lab achievements (and disasters), and much more. I rebuilt this website with future scalability and flexibility in mind, so maybe it'll serve a greater purpose in the future. Who knows?

The rest of this post is just me rambling. You have been warned :)

This has been something I've been meaning to do for a long time, but in standard Jan fashion, I have been procrastinating quite a bit. Now that I have resolved to push through some of the projects I have been meaning to complete for all this time, I figured the progress reports and guides for all these projects need somewhere to live. For many of these projects, not only do I want the end product to be useful to the world, but I want the journey of creating them also be helpful. One of those projects just so happens to also be this website. My previous JTacbianan.dev website and blog (as well as some of my other blogs) have been hosted on some reseller hosting platform and were built upon WordPress. Don't get me wrong, WordPress is fantastic for spinning up quick and simple maintenance websites. But... This time around I wanted to definitely do something new and different. This website is now powered by Umbraco and is hosted on the Azure Cloud. As I explore and learn more about different technologies, I want to actually employ them in things I use. If I want to pilot a new Azure resource, why not do it as part of this website. I have been also working on doing other websites and blogs. I have been meaning to pilot Umbraco for them for a while, but it was hard to develop against a completely new platform and learning about its limitations while in implementation, so I thought I'll just build this website on Umbraco and transfer the learnings and experimentation to my other projects. There will totally be more posts on how that other website (or websites) are going, but for now I'll just say that much.

Any who, this was just a rambling post to start off my new website. Welcome again!
